Why are c.ds in Australia so expensive?

I like my c.ds orignal, and since I love the Australian style, I find myself wondering through many online Australian shops. But then I see the prices - $30 (Australian dollars which is something like USD 25) for a c.d! That is A LOT. It's true that it includes shipping (but come on, the shipping cost is not that much), and if you buy like 2-3 c.ds you end up spending a fortune. That same c.d costs in Saikosounds for example only USD 14, if u add a few bucks for shipping it will still be like 2/3 price from the Australian shops.

So my question is why? Why is it so expensive?           Majority is never right!

Saikosounds is probably not a good comparison.
Its the cheapest online trance music shop.
I think its so cheap because they get a lot of business from the Japanese market - the biggest Trance music market in the world.           The music was like new black polished chrome
that came over the sky like liquid night.

And yet even if u compare it to Trance Shop or any other online shop, it's still much more expensive.           Majority is never right!

I wasn't talking in euros, I was talking in dollars. And I still find it expensive. Why should I pay 20 or 25 USD for a c.d (equal to 25 or 30 Australian dollar) including shipping? How much does shipping cost? Not that much!           Majority is never right!

Try Donna and Nathan at www.alkaloid.biz
They have a pretty extensive catalogue now and are based in Aus. I'm sure you will find their prices competitive aswell.

Candy psy-harmonics is a boutique record store - you can get stuff there that's very hard to find elsewhere, that's why you pay more as far as I can tell

Seen the new Nam Shub album on saikosounds yet?           new Hadal Drop album on the way

if you don't have the last one get in touch

Sam, I happen to know from first source that there was a mix up, and therefore the Nam Shub is not on Saikosounds yet... I just couldn't wait and ordered it from Psy Harmonics
But u can find most c.ds on Saikosounds.           Majority is never right!

Damb straight! Its mostly the tax's I think. Yesterday I bought a C.D for $38! And it sux because MOST of the people making and selling the albums we want, try hard to make prices reasonable, but there are just expenses they can't avoid. Mostly to do with government policy...Booo!           Why is chopsticks one of the easiest songs to play on the piano, but the hardest thing to eat with?

Candy, I really think that you will struggle to find most of the CDs available at Psy-Harmonics.com.au on Saikosounds.. you have to stray a little before you get into the good stuff though - check the Japanese, Comma & Experimental sections to find the goodness           new Hadal Drop album on the way

if you don't have the last one get in touch
