Principles of Flight studied music at the same school Mozart did....

Terrafractyl for sure.

Ocelot is definitely a name worth mentioning with a very different style/approach and really innovative.

Too bad there's no one on the level of BT in the psy scene...           http://soundcloud.com/ascensionsound

Simon for me. Totally original sound, did it ages before anyone else, abundant use of modular synths, hardware effects...etc but most importantly and even if I am not into the music so much, the Sphongle stuff is truly mesmerizing.
Add Ott to the list and that's the top for me.

Peace out.

The real nerds are the electrical engineers and programmers who spend their time building circuits and writing code... it's rare that such a brain also has the space to be musically creative.

anyway that aside, other than those mentioned already, there are guys like these who are gurus on hardware:

Martin Glover

if that's where we're going with the conversation, gotta throw Bob Moog, Eric Persing, Howard Scarr, Urs from U-he in there....            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

It's a tough question, a painter was asking me the same thing the other day but for electronic music in general.

Is there anyone out there that reached the same level of genius and composition as Mozart, Bach & Beethoven?

It's unreasonable to compare two eras so far apart. We can try but the world has become so much more complex, the medium has become so much more infinite than just notation, piano, strings, orchestra.
