In the UK rave scene its more Techno and D&B, the Ibiza underground continues, yet with increased police brutality in both.           www.wizanda.com www.soundcloud.com/wizanda

no one makes it it with psytrance, but at least we all save a lot of time here cause of sharing knowledge with many good artists giving input to the new ones here

i read for years now in this foru and have to say everything would have take much more time to learn without this site and the lot of nice people here sharing their knowledge.

          FUCK GENRES, LOVE MUSIC!!!!

I still love trance but i think i'm not going pro in it.
I prefer some other club genres. And keep psy as a sideproject.
Since the trance scene in my country is really ugly now
A few years ago I wanted to make part of it.. but not anymore

This forum is one of the best arround for production.
There's always useful knowlegde here, that you can apply on general production, for other music genres.
A few months ago I read the some old post from the archiveforum of isra.

Psy in UK is for hippies, clubs play cheese, ravers like harder.           www.wizanda.com www.soundcloud.com/wizanda

The underground Techno scene died on its ass. The vast majority of squat parties and warehouse parties are playing psy nowadays. It upsets me. But that is how it is. I am in London

It depends. You can make average quality music and be exceptionally good at having fun with people and nonstop gigging and couch surfing, and you can build a great network and get big gigs as a result of it.

You can also produce phenomenal music while hiding out in the basement, and 5 people will listen to it on myspace, and that will be the extent of your notoriety.

Music is a social thing, you can't base quality on promotion and you can't restrict promotion to only the very best quality.

So what it comes down to is your priorities. If you want to be onstage 180 days a year for the rest of your life, and you have the balls and the stamina to do it, I think that even with average music you could do it and get very far, at least far enough to make a decent living, as long as you get along with people well.

If you do what everyone else is doing, you will get what everyone else is getting. Most people are making average music and not touring. Decide what you want and then do it.           .::New Boole CD The Vital Few out now::.

One time I made it was when I was at school some years ago and had to make a track for my graduation short film. So I went to good ol' Isra trance, and started searching in the mother of all bassline threads. Once I had my track together and a teacher (who is a true wizard in the craft of everything related to sound, mixing etc.) was totally stunned by the nice round presence of the bass and asked me how the hell I did it...
Got me a ninety out of 100%, and not only but definitely also because of ISRA !

Upavas - Here And Now (Sangoma Rec.) new EP out Oct.29th, get it here:
