I know a lot of people seem to like only one style, darkpsy people seem to not like progressive and vice versa, of course there are exceptions. Personally I love it all, I won't know if its bad until I hear it for myself. There is just as much bad prog as bad dark! At least I think so. My favorite cds that I own at the moment are, Hungry 4 Hungary (psybaba), Behind Blue Eyes (iboga), and Im really liking Spirit Zone's "Beat-ific".

How many more of you love it all, from the beginning in Goa and Israel to now? How many dont care about what we call the music?

I know youre out there!!           .

Taste isn't a permanent thing. Once I considered ppl who love all, as tasteless. now I see them as blessed, because they can enjoy all the worlds. Once I listened only to full on, today barely. Just to progressive, tech, chill and electro. Dark psy is something that I can't crack. It is maximum psy - minimum music.

I certainly qualify as having wide-ranging tastes. When DJing, I play stuff from all across the spectrum depending on set and setting: from progressive, house/electro with a psy touch, chill out & psychedelic downtempo, old school Goa, tasteful full-on, South African power trance, darkpsy, heavy industrial techtrance, suomi-style, and whatever else I feel is good. The key is to pick the best of any style and go with it; forget the filler, that's for the narrow focus of those with only "one sound"

more openminded people gives a more diverse scene.. which in my opinion is nice...

i guess what the masses likes is what we get to hear the most...

there will always be one or two or more people in a party that dont like what they hear.. though if its a diverse dj or artist they will probably get their moment aswell.....

its wonderful that trance is so diverse, so we can never really get bored of it. And we can all find something that fits in with how we live our lives!

Of course there will be people who dont share our opinion. Thats fine! Thats why they're opinions.

Ive been to many parties where I havent heard anything at all that I liked, but I had fun anyway. All you need to do is dance and the fun will come!           .

I like it all, and actually, in my identity/hobby as a "dj" I play most of it. I find it to be the supreme challenge for me, to suck it all up and create a set which is among the most open minded out there.

So yeah, I like it all. Most of the music is crap, in some genres there is more crap than others. Still, that doesnt mean a genre as such is crap, it just means its harder to get to work for the producers, or many of them are still struggling with their sound.

The more experimental and new the sound, the more difficult it is to get it to work. Or, the more overplayed and popular the sound, the harder it is to get it to stand out.

I still care about "genres" though, I need to have them to be able to categorize sound, so that I can easily access it. The mind does this on its own, the words people put on the music later on is just the collective reflection of what is going on in individual peoples minds anyways.

Yeah I love stuff from all styles and generes, and emotional wavelenths too. It makes me so sad when I hear people say they only like one kind of music... these people are missing out.

I think the best music is the stuff that breaks down boundries between styles and defies classification (Artifakt is a good example).

Who cares about labels. Labels are boxes that restrict. Ideally they're designations, so we can tell Melorix from Behind Blue Eyes. its gotten crazy though.

Heres to a label-less future!           .

I love almost all genres, I love only good music. I see it in my own tracks, each ones has a different style and story.

Great music is what counts!

i don't care what we call the styles aslong as we call them something... I have certain styles i steer clear off and that is easier if that stuff is recognisable by genre name.

the amount of electronical sub-genre names is getting rediculous though...           www.iono-music.com
