it depends on if you mean a perormance with keyboards/synths being played or an artist spinning his own tracks. it's been years since i've seen any psytrance act using instruments on stage that impressed me so i can't vote on that one. the last was a set by these two guys tweaking their keyboards and rack gear like mad to produce constantly evolving music with no obvious transitions between songs if there were any at all. i don't remember who they were but it sounded very scandinavian, sort of like Eraser vs. Yojalka. that style is more suited for freeform manipulation so it makes sense people who compose more straightforward tracks don't have as much to do. hopefully more than someone like Quadra who i just watched last saturday playing a nord lead with no audio or midi output cables attached...
as for who rocked me the most playing their own music that'd be Kindzadza but i haven't seen Derango yet and have heard enough about their shows to know Sofia is right to choose both, they must make it to the US next year! |

Please people, let's keep it real, NONE of the artists mentioned do a real live act...
If you want a real live act go see S.U.N. Project (killer live), Juno Reactor (You gotta love that tribal/metal thing  , Tim Schuldt (again I'm a guitar freak), Holeg and the Spies w/ Kris Kylven playing d.drums...
I also recall catching MFG back in the day in like 97 and I really got off to their live power synth chords, so count them in too.
If I forgot anybody somebody please tell me, and no I do not consider ableton live as a live, but it is better than playing an unplugged keyboard  |

The best live act I ever seen in electronic music was Jamie Lidell, impressionant!!!!!
The best Live act with real instruments I've seen in psytrance I think were:

i have never really seen a very good live act from an artist , which has surprised me
dj sets have always been higher quality and much more entertaning then live sets
maybe i havent heard the right artists
but so far
penta, dark nebula, broken toy, have all djed much better then their live sets

I agree with u, and i must say they have the best lice act today. every show is live, erez eizen is some of the must talnted artist in the scen.
and i have to say that if our old & dear Friend Cosma (Avihen-may he rest in peace)
will still be around, he had been bigger then every one... we love & miss u Friend

i remember a couple of years ago, KLANGSTRAHLER PROJEKT with Dj Feuerhake came to swiss for a real live performance. 7 artists performed with live instruments, some synths and a huge mixer a totally wicked show!!

squarepusher! deffinitely the best live Ive seen so far. saw him live last night, first jaming with Paul Hession (drums) & Mick Beck (sax) which was absofuckinlutely mental, then he played his regular electronica solo stuff. oh man oh man he was doing miracles with that bass, never seen anyone playing bass like that!!!
from the trance acts, I have to say xenomorph, he surely is an appearance one cant forget:)
