I've decided so specialize on only one synth for a longer time so i really can learn that one in and out.

the two synths i'm choosing between are:

Sylenth1 vs Zebra2

The styles i want to create are both progressive & fullon.

I need your opinion on which one of those 2 im gonna choose. Heard that the sylenth1 is first of all very good and can be compared with a virus, and the sound is very fat. But i've also heard good things about Zebra 2, which also looks much better.

i've triend demo, but i need your opinions

please thanks

Many people praise the zebra alot, i myself tend to lean more on the Sylenth, simply because i like the way it sounds. Im not realy a huge fan of the zebra.

Thanks for the opinions. Hmm, the opinions are so split, which makes it so hard to choose. I really dont want to choose wrong from the beginning

U-HE Zebra CM is awesome for Bass

DiscoPro is mean and dirty

Sylenth 1 is my favourite "soft synth" of the moment though, learn them all           Check out my site for Video tutorials and other tips & Tricks

I own both and they are both great...
with that said,

If you are going to master just one, how long do you plan on doing this before buying another synth?

If it's going to be a long time, I'd say Zebra 2 because you can do a lot more with it.

If it's not going to be long then maybe Sylenth 1 because it can be learned much quicker.

I did what you are doing a while back and my synth I chose to master was Albino 3. I drifted away from that though and started using a bunch of other ones.

My point is that they are both good synths, one is very in depth and the other more simple. Maybe you should look at it from a different angle.           ~Airyck~

sylenth is for quick and dirty straight subtractive VA sounds. IMHO it's nothing like a virus there is a group buy happening now, i think, until the end of Jan.

Zebra is an incredibly in-depth semi-modular synthesis environment. it has far more possibilities, but is far more complex. it is a very high quality synth.

if you want to immediately get creating sounds and writing songs and just want straightforward everyday synthesis then Sylenth looks good. if you want a synth you can learn and grow with, one which has a wider range of sounds and is capable of much more than ordinary synths, go Zebra.

You could learn both ... Sylenth is really str8 forward so you can learn to use it in no time ... but with zebra you will need some time reading the manual :D           www.psilocybian.com / www.facebook.com/psilocybian
