guru and battery2

to me guru works a bit easier then battery and with some samples the enveloppes sound/swing better then battery. also the fact it has a stepsequencer build in, makes it a nice sketchbook tool.

unfortunately it has a bug what makes it miss often the first note in its stepsequencer but when you work with midi or dont need this first note its ok.

also use it for pre-listening to samples (which is a headache in SX3 but maybe changed now in cubase4). it works with this prelistening like ableton which for me is nicer then the way you do it in battery.

kontakt i see it as a more complex sampler with many more possibilities the battery. amazing convolution reverb in it. did not use it much yet but it looks to me best for really transforming soundeffects/soundshaping. for most drums its not really needed that complex.

kontakt is more for sounds and instruments and also has a semi modular build, while battery is more drum oriented and has a simpler build.

You can use Halion3 and asign percussion and drum samples to any notes you want.

dr008 sometimes, kontakt, mostly for a sampled piano..

i find my self not using samplers in a creative way..
i would like a sampler like the simple one in reason..

any recommendations for a simple hands on sampler, with a basic interface!?
Vst that is...

battery, dr008,
kontakt,
halion...

is not what im looking for in a creative fast working sampler....

maybe i should get sampletank XL, only have LE and i got it with a sample kit i bought, but it seems not to support wav, this le version.... i cant import my own sounds

I have tried it a littlebit and it seems that it is very flexible - but it's good to read the manual to understand the multiple functions. I didn't check the cpu-usage though...           www.myspace.com/mentris

Ok sometimes..i'am using...creamware dsp power sampler...sts 3000 on luna II .fore creation some best quallity samples and groove parts...but....battery its...realy nice and standart vst sampler...aspecialy...for sequensers !!!sts 3000 is good for drum machines and midi controlers,it has high quallity sound proccesing module, which gives you to create each sample with maximum of realism on your track...i think so...
