I'm not saying that everyone who use fruity have bad production. And the more tracks you use the more problem it is, so minimal is possible that it's fine to mix in fruity.
I will try to listen to your new track.
I heard squaremeat and sattle battle, both make good stuff that works very well.
Kick bass and stereo with is not by any means great in the tracks I heard.
But I don't really care about that, and since they both have lot's of fun and inspired stuff in the tracks I don't think many people even bother to think about sound quality hopefully.
The only time the sound quality really matters to me is when I sit and produce.
If I can't get good sounds of my synths and the mixer is not souding fine, then I get uninspired. You just always want your next track to sound at least as good as your last one in production.
I wish I could override that function in my brain and just have fun making music in abelton or fruity, but I don't work like that.
But I totally respect if someone can and tell me that sound when you mix in fruity is not very good, but they don't care and just want to have fun when making music.
But it just do not sound the same, that's a truth.

I recal hearing Wrecked Machines have done some tracks on fruity, not sure though.
Or maybe it was only this one track they where suppose to make with another producer.
Dont remember very well how excatly it was, sorry
Making full-on (specialy with a vb-1) is like playing FIFA in easy mode, you're always sure to win. |

Krumelur, i pretty damn sure it is not. Even without listening to it, it must be much better. Tho i don't like Zenon's style of music or mastering. |

tip for fl:
try inserting a fruity db meter as the first effect in every mixer track. Now, make sure you are around 0db all the time here (adjusting the volume for the sampler or instrument) and set the mixer fader to whatever sounds good. I use the db meter all the time, for all mixer tracks aswell as master. FL studio WILL peak internally in the mixer otherwise, be sure of it. Have the master db-meter open all the time while working.
Anyway, this helps lift dynamics and clarity of sounds all the way.

OMG this was the missing tip I needed! Damn that works good!
Thanks! |

| I have been thinking that gain structure might be what is being problematic, and you tip makes sense.
I really tried hard to achive perfect gain structure because I suspected that could be a cause why I get inferior sound.Didn't seem to help in abelton at least, but i will keep your advice in mind if I would ever use fruity again. |

yes this is the biggest problem i find... fruity seems to have some sort of built in limiter on its channels and master... so amatuers tend to run it very hot, not realising what is happening because there is no noticable cliping... this squashes a mix and makes it sound crap... krumeleur gets good results because he has proper gain structure... i don't know if it would sound any better in logic or cubase (maybe a little ?) but the biggest problem is definately gain structures i feel... this is why ppl think fruity sounds crap because of so many trax they hear done in it with this problem... |

Hi all,
The gain-structure and compression/limiter-FX have to be controlled at excess, that's important for the dynamics that will be present on the masterchannel.
Also, when starting a new song, it's a good idea first to leave the default-volumes on the channel and the mixer, control the basic volume from within the VST-Instrument.
Often people start a song, then at the end, when you turn off the compressors on the master, almost nothing remains...
Best is actually to control with Db-meters, no comprssion or amps or bloodoverdrives - only when every instrument of the song is ok, then start "seriously" with the work in the playlist...
cubase vs fruity:) ... Uhhh: A bad mix in FL sounds like music coming out a Cardboard box. In Cubase this will sound like music coming out a metal pan (especially when done under Mac) |

well i learn to use fruty lups long time ago , now i use fl studio and cubase , i think is the best way to do it easy , but as you know fruty lups is for lazy people , u can make a lot of good stuff with it , but i think is for begginers ......
almost a lot of great musicians dont use at 100% fruty advantages , not so much quality but its easy to put big ideas over there !!!

fruity here too
but i am curious about why would u ask smth like that? maybe you are also just curious?
imo, on the quality matter, all u need with fruity is a couple of good plugins (filter, compressor, reverb) cos the fruity ones doesn't sound too good (i don't know if version 5 improved them). also, some other tricks (e.g. what to do in order to split a signal in two identical ones in mixer) and that's all..... other than that u can rock!
