What's professional anyway? As in: psytrance is your profession where you can live from? How many professional psytrance artists are there then? How many can actually make a decent living out of it?

I recon that bands like Infected Mushroom (and most Hommega artists)amongst many others can generally make a decent living out of it but then am not sure.
I do not think that Liquid meant professional as in making psytrance your only method of income, i think used the phrase used to describe an act which is signed and well known.;

By the way i did not mean my previous post as an insult to fruity loops, i know (from experience) how good and powerful a program it is and the quality of track that can be made from it, i'm just not sure though which famous acts use it...

I think Tsabeat uses it, and mubali mentioned Nommos use it

So these two acts show more then enough how good it is.

And NikC is absolutly right FL is the most powerful sequencer for doing trance music if u don't record hardware.            Signature

If you care about music, use whatever is easiest for you.
If you care about sound quality then use proper sequencer. FL Producer has many disabilities for modern music creation (doesn't matter how you use it, thru fireware, vsti or exporting audio channels)

It almost doesn't support hardware.
It doesn't support 24bit/32bit ( automaticly convert it to 16bit using soft of dithering while LOADING into sampler or audio clip. That dithering add noise(due to non accurate processing) to the output signal, increasing it by -90dB. I assume you understand what happens when you have more than one sample sequence?)
It is so easy and friendly for some users who claim afterwards they know almost everything untill "new world" being opened for them with Compression, EQing and proper sequencing (here i mean pattern sequencer is easy but always repeat last part, some may call it "for lazy ppl")
Audio representation is shameless, audio clips have nothing compared to Cubase or Logic audio work.

Who use it?
Many do, basically most of those who used it in the past moved to Cubase. Lish, Sesto Sento, Texas Faggots, Krumelur(not sure)...etc
Is their music sounded bad these days?
No, i think their knowledge was less than now.
Did i've ever heard something good made on FL Producer sound wise?
Yes, i did (one of this very forum members does good mixes with it, i'm sure not the only one)

Just with other sequencer you can have cleaner mix without messing too much, if you like clean mix at all.

hmm.. i'm not sure about
"THE Most Powerful sequencer"
But its a matter of personal taste completely, if you like using FL and you make a crisp track, then thats what counts!

I use cubase with reason in rewire and i love using them both, but thats my personal opinion

It doesn't mean that i don't like using FL.
It really does depend on how you like to control your tracks!

To avoid argue, i will explain myself here. FL Producer can be used by anybody, it is easy. Cubase is not, you must learn Cubase even for basic tasks. Means knowledge standart of FL Producer user is lower than Cubase user. Doesn't mean ALL FL Producers bad, just overall is much lower than in Cubase.

As i said before, Mike Oldfield do use FL Producer but we will never know for which task. Hobby or professional music creation. There is no album produced by him using FL Producer thou.

U say the average knowledge about sound is less for FL users and more to Cubase users.

Yes could be true, i ever thought this way. But this says nothing about the tracks u can make with it.

Some people will make much better tracks with FL then other people will never do with another sequencer.

Then read my posts once again. I never mentioned bad music, sound wise you can't produce with FL Producer what you can with Cubase (i'm talking about exactly the same person who sequence on both programs using same techniques). For god's sake -90dB noise per sample or audio clip, just imagine how much of it you will have in 30 samples sequence which is basically the regular psychedelic track layout.
