But u can realise that every pic of BT has a M Audio product... Marketing stuff.
I only know Alesis and M Audio. And I can say that M Audio sounds good, but not so clear. Imo Alesis has more clear sounds, but I don´t like its bass(too much).

I wouldnt overlook the tapco S5's. Damn good for the price and very precise. They do sound a little boxy a higher volumes but for a bit more you could get the S8's. |

if you looking for a cheap studio monitor. i advice you the samson rubicon 6a.
i do alot of work on them and i godda say they are good. not dynaudio bm6 good. but for the price they are better then all the other cheap monitors.
what ever you buy DONT BUY BX-5. this monitor is is just bad. i know alot of producers who worked with it and in the end they stop using it, only for mix dobble check.

i have the bx5 and there great... of course not anywhere near the high end genelec's and stuff, but ive had them for over 2 years now, and my ears are totally trained on them...
people that claim you cant get a good sounding mix outta them need to learn some production tips.....
i know shift uses the bx8, and both me and a guy i make tunes with use the bx5, (without the woofer... we live in small apts!!), and they are fucking chilly twistered.... lol |

That is correct, BX5 will give you a great mid frequency monitoring, as well as high frequencies, it lacks bass, so you will have to work around it, that is where experience kicks in.
They are very flexible regarding the sound setup.
If you can add a sub woofer, you have a nice studio monitoring.
Now, they are cheap, so dont expect any miracles, but, between the price range, they are very good.

man i suggest u put in a lil extra money and buy something better seriously.....
no point spending money on these c-grade monitors and then later regreting it ,,,
i would suggest you see the tapco s8 ,,, they r verry nice
also some of the KRK series is excellent and reasonable price i think
and well ,,, outta those 3 u mentioned ,, by bet would be on the yamaha's ,, even though they roll of at about 65hz or so ,,, they r good for final mixing stages ,, and u can get great sounding final mixes outta em

Opinions are like assholes, everyone's got one!
When recommending monitors people tend to be biased about what they own or what their friends own/like..
It would make sense to save up & buy yourself the best one's you can afford right now..If you buy mediocre one's right now you'll regret it later & end up having to sell them for a better pair..
Good monitors start around the 1000 euro mark..However if you want budget one's then maybe look at Samson rubicons, Krk Rokits, the new Alesis 520/620's..
There's tons of monitors in these categories, so the best bet is to take a couple of your cd's & go listen to as many as you can & then pick the one YOU like..

Hi ppl !
I've BX5a connected to a Yamaha 01v and must say I'm having a problem: while mixing everything sounds clear, but after, moving the mix to a CD and bringin' it over "normal stereos"...high frequencies aren't all there...and too much basses.
So...maybe it's a BX5a trouble or my hears sesitivity...but it looks like BX5a's bass is too little and hights are too crispy and loud.
Just my experience. |
