which O/S is best for audio/midi???

hello i am formatting once again my cpu and im unsure in which operating system to install. ive heard many differentes things of pros and cons about windows xp and 2000. i kind of liked 2000 a little more, but in your experience in audiomidi, which is the best performing O/S?? thnx a lot for ur comments, by the way im using hp laptop 2.8 ghz, 500 ram ,40 GB.

win2000 needs less cpu resources, and less hard disc space, so i guess this is the better choice for your configuration. Anyway, you can tweak it to work better with audio, search some websites, www.musicxp.net for example...
Win2000 and XP work on the same kernel, so you can use these tweaks on win2000 too...
