I got in with a bunch of Logic Nazi's in my area and after comparing a track that I wrote in Logic with one that I had written in Orion Platinum, I was hooked. I have used Orion since, for collaborations with people who use that program, but I still prefer Logic. I have used Fruity Loops as well, and I kinda dug it, but didn't like it overall feel.

IMHO Orion Plat. has to be the worst Sequencer ever. It's bullshit.

Would you beleive that I like Orion more than Fruity Loops?? I kinda lump them both in the same range as Not really my cup of tea. I also am not too fond of Cubase, even though I am trying to write a song with it just to say I can use damn near anything...

I actually used it for about 2 years - starting around 1990 - on a 286 and a 386 before Cubase 1.0 for the PC came out... at which point I sold VSP to buy Cubase. And instantly regretted my decision - until v1.1, at which point Cubase became usable! I've been with Cubase ever since.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

i've only used sonar once in the last year to produce a song, but i've written at least 50 on the rs7000. sonar seems to do everything i need, and easily. and it's great for working with loops. i would like to try out logic, but since they switched to the mac...

i bought cubase vst a while ago and hated it, i couldn't come to grips with it. what a waste of money.

very curious about live 4 though. def gonna have to check it out. i've been hearing some very positive reviews.

i've used old skool trackers, cubase on atari, logic 2.8~5.5 , pro-tools , reason, FL , Cubase SX (2) and Live! ..,

in my experience Logic rules mayor time.,
other sequencers can have advantages in certain areas.,
but when it comes to flexibility and sheer functionality and production streamlining there is (almost) nothing that comes close to logic.,

SX comes close but there is generaly too much clutter on screen, strange ways to set up stuff (what's with the separate vsti pannel?), (unnessesary) separate tracks for vsti's and overwhelming mixer.,

IMHO!!!

but everyone should make up their own mind,.
i think that you can use any sequencer to make a pro sounding track.,
so choose the tool that wil do the thing that you want it to do.,

greets.,
aka.,

ps. i DO agree with the 'more pro' statement.,
pro is not only about sound quality.,
it's about compatibility, about streamlining, about getting it done fast, about flexibility/configurability , about understandibility and about functionality as well.
i think that logic does a great job in all these area's,.

Nothing...
The Logic vs Cubase arguement is quite amusing. People claiming that either one is better.
