I agree with Aeon, i wish my polar had an extra octave, could come in handy!

But then it wouldn't be so portable anymore, it already weighs quite a lot.          http://www.soundcloud.com/getafixmusic

I borrowed a Virus B from a friend who was selling it. I compared it to my Novation KS Rack and girlfriends Supernova II. The virus offered a bit more detail in texture but not enough to persuade me to part with money for it. I did want a new synth though, one which offer me alot more than the Nova's. I had a keyboard so considered the TI desktop. Roland's V-Synth XT won me over in the end.           http://www.whatacunt.co.uk/

The main technical difference between the TI adn its predecessors is that ther Ti ahs 2 DSP chips instead of 1.
Sound wise, the TI has a few more oscilator options, namely a hypersaw, fixed formant and granular modes.

for me, the biggest difference adn advantage si the TI thing. no sysex, no bs. the virus really integrates into the system naturally, so automation, changign patches and tweakign is easy.
The vc igves you good visual indications of the shit your sdoing, as well as making alot of work easier.
so thats the big differences.

Yes i have a desktop 2 and i absolutely love it but would like to be able to use VC and monitor out the analogues as opposed to running through the usb audio which i find has a weaker signal strength. So i tend to work with oaudio through the usb the either bouncew my parts through the analogue or record my parts in from the analogues.

I would also waaay prefer to have a polar with keys to avoid my midi KB however i like to have velocity on my keys and i think the polar is not velocity sensitive.

Do people not see this as an issue?

what is a fair price for a used Virus A rack? someone is selling one locally and i'm sort of GASing after it. since the core of all Viruses seems to be the same, this could be my chance to check out what's all the fuss is about. though i notice it's the only one that's 18-bit. how does that affect the character of it (more distinguishable from the rest? for worst?)?           https://soundcloud.com/dead-end-dance

My analog outs seem to switch off the moment cubase is started with the TI plugged in the USB.

Would be perfect to have Virus Control as well as be able to run analogue outs to an offboard sound-card. Does anyone do this?

Around $400 should be a good price.           http://www.soundcloud.com/getafixmusic

thanks. if i decide to go for it, i'll be asking $300.

how different is it from the other viruses soundwise? just curious if it has something different going for it being the first one, with limited functionality and 18bit dac (like some people prefer older nords because the character is more 'raw'). i know all the rest of them have more features (modulation sources/destinations, etc), but maybe it's going to be a blessing in disguise to learn it better without being bogged down by all the options.           https://soundcloud.com/dead-end-dance

I recently got an A, for being raw it's soo raw^^
I never heard of 18bit DAC, it's unhearable @ my ears, i know now u write here, never askin if there's a 18bit here
Main differences should be that A is more simple than other access, only 2 filters, less functions, no plugin ecc.
If u have other viruses don't buy it, if u haven't put $250-300 right away in his hand and take it home

Imho of course, i' not an expert nor big producer, just have fun with the Aceess beast
