HI, I'm looking to upgrade my soundcard, and have been looking at some firewire options around the 800usd mark, specifically;
Echo audiofire 8
Mackie 400f
and a few other cards aound the price range, maybe motu traveller(?)...
I was wondering if anyone had some good/bad experiences with any of these cards and could point me in a direction...

I think you should look into the RME interfaces, i hear nothing but good reactions on those cards. And with your budget you can easily get one. Try the search and find some topics on this manufacturer! |

Thanks for the tip.... but I can't seem to find any prices for fireface800 anywhere near my budget! (600-800usd)
The cheapest price I could find for this card was 1500$!
I would love one of these cards but the price was the reason I was looking at the Echo and the Mackie...
If you've got a better deal on the RME let me know please.
I would still love any feedback on these two soundcards
Thanks |

Thanks, the hercules has some impressive stats for such a cheap card!!!
Hammerfall series would be nice too, but not firewire...
