You´re right. The second night with the set of highko you couldn´t sleep at the camping area, it was a f@cking loud nightmare. but a nice nightmare. ;-) So i went back to the mainfloor *g*

I think,Function one is not really correct choice for the Trance parties,it is really good as a Rock sound, but on the trance dancefloor it just blows loud.Yeah,it is really loud, but the quality of the sound is so so,not really clean,if you r near the speakers,u cant speak, and go depth in 30 min.

Well in my opinion it sounded good in quality also, but actually I've not been near the speakers so I can't tell.. but moving all around the area I listend to clear sound from all over (maybe in the middle in certain points it was a little bit disturbed by a rumble..but I thought was a problem of audiodirectors not of the system in itself) without being disturbed from the loudiness, but maybe there are better sounds I never had the chance to hear ..what soundsystem do you think is the best for trance music anyway?

Vuuv / Voov has always amazed me with their ability to not blast my ears beyond repair, but delivering high quality crystal clear music and exactly the right level

I believe an important factor in the popularity of the boom 2006 soundsystem is the fact that the Boom organisation got it quite wrong in the 2002 and 2004 editions... in comparison the Boom 2006 was a huge (and very much needed) milestone

After having heard the boom 2006 soundsystem i figured it was too loud.

yes... too loud...

Voov was a much more correct sound... clearer and you where able to stand everywhere without hearing a 3-day lasting bleeeeeeeeep when you leave the festival.

Well at first hand, when we just arrived we thought the soundsystem wasn't great at all.
Like last year I thought the setup was much much better.
But as the festival progressed I actually liked it better and better.
And by the last night when I got like 5-10 meters from the stage, I thought the sound was spectacular!
Real nice deep warm basses without feedback hitting me in the and a very clear stereo image.
But you had to really pick a good spot on the dancefloor in order to find the right high/low frequency ratio %.

At Ozora where I thought was a similar setup like last years Sonica, was very dissapointing to me.
Nowhere on the dancefloor did both the basses and higher sounds hit me perfectly.
It sounded crisp but it lacked some serious bass and stuff.
And when you got more to the back of the dancfloor, big bass feedback would hit you

Actually if you'd know your physics you'd know that you do hear electricity. sound (air waves) is being transformed into electrical current (by microphones) or is being produced directly as electrical current (by synths or playback equipment), amplified and then turned back into air waves by speakers.           Kinetic Honda GmbH, Worldwide Supliers of Quality noise.

I liked very much sound system at FIRST Omni Festival, Opus did a very good job.

And yes, this is a very good question, so many parties and festivals with poor sound system...

Blame on all this dj that do not know what 0db means and they just open the gain to get more power... then compressors start working and sound becomes shit...

poor sound...

mostly the ones to blame for poor sound are

1. all the people that suffer from the poor sound (yet still doesn't complain to dj/producer/soundmen etc..)

i mean...nobody is ashame to complain if he ordered a hamburger @ mcshit and it's dead cold @ tastes like a dead rat.. darn most would even smash chairs till they get it right.

why not complain when you paid good money to hear your favorite artist and end up with ears ringing 2 days after ?
(which btw is a symptom of real ear damage..sometimes it will pass...sometimes it will permamently fuck up you ears...party by party)

2.
sound engineers (atleast around here..) are:

1. either too deaf/old to hear the sound sucks..

2. simply don't give a damn...
if it's LOUD!!!! enough its good enough for them...
it's a kind of..
"those druggies aren't hearing that shit anyways..they'll fly even on a pair of pc speakers.."
job done...now kick back and hit the bong..yey.

3. don't KNOW how to make sound better even if they'd care..those darn proccessor setting can be rather misterious sometimes.. the boss told them "don't touch the black thing !"

dj-wise..
if the dj's is playing +15db (master) and +9 highs or other kinds of twisted setttings then he's damn
right killing the music and probably doing some serious damage to the crowd.
if a sound enginner is responsible enough he should go to the dj and tell him...lower the volume or i'll lower it from the amp. no compromise. no arguments.
a dj's role is to play music..
soundman's role is to make sure the music sounds good to the crowd.
he's the sole person responsible for your ears health AND party enjoyment (sound-wise...)..
mmmm

btw none of the above mean i'm any better than anybody or whatever shit like that..
just stating my opinions etc etc etc..

-funktion one (the best i heard untill now)
-turbosound floodlight system to the psyberpunk party and morocco fest
-dynacord alpha to zoom festival
-nexo alpha

but i would like to hear again the opus audio system as for me to the omni it doesn't sound great but the s.i. said that they broked the system ...           www.inpsyde-media.com
