I do not think that trance will excist in 2020. It will for sure be something else.. As people hopefully grow less agressive in the future (if ever) I recon music will be more meditative and peaceful.

Trance is in my opinion a dying scene or maybe it will evolve into something totally different.... One thing's for sure... It's getting boring to listen to 500 bands sounding the same these days... Well we can always hope that more artist start to experiment and break out of the dancefloor rules that seem to categorise trance today.

just my little opinion of course

Music will always remain an endless entity filled with different forms of expression.

I think as time proceeds + technology Music in general will be more colorful and will bring out different and unique sound.

whats here will stay and get richer...

Elysium...
This is exactly what I though about Techno before I discovered PsyTrance...

I think You are a bit pessimistic, as the PsyScene remains one of the most innovative nowadays... because It knew how to stay underground (i mean out of major label & companies)

As long as we won't be controled by Money, we'll survive..

And P.S. my mother is a teacher for very young kids....... we speak a lot about it.. People ABSOLUTELY don't grow less agressive... She is more and more worried about that, unfornately..

PEACE !           .

I totally agree with you.
And there will always be trance. The original form of trance exists for several thousands of years. I believe i can say that trance is as old as the existence of the didjeridoo or the djembe...           You realise everything you learn is in fact just learned, not necessarily true...

I think psychedelic trance will evolve into other forms of music. I can easily see the minimal progressive artists pioneering ultra-minimal mechanical breakbeat with extremely deep structures. I can see the full-on artists bringing the next wave of explosive dancefloor music, and the techtrance musicians will become less and less similar to either trance or techno and become a genre of their own. There are so many ways psychedelic trance can evolve, into freeform music, dancefloor music, whatever. The idea behind the trance scene used to be change. When it stops changing, the artists will move on to the next style.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

To answer to Brainstorm I really think and feel that the spirit and energy that shaked everyone who discovered Goa Trance a few years ago is coming back.
People will always need authentic feelings and our psy culture has its roots in the peace and love philosophy, don't forget that.
Plus I think we already have a few good exemples of what psy trance could be (and should be IMO) with Vibraspirit 23 (everything's said in the title) and South African new artists.
Oldschool is coming back in a certain way with its spirit made of beautiful vibes, amazing energy and crazy pschedelic melodies.
So, I also think you're a bit pessimistic here Elysium

Well, I don´t have any reason to believe people will get less agressive...

And in the future I think that underground psytrance will have real killer production and quality with a thousand layers of sounds, even more psychedelic than today and with sub-limiar messages...
And (unfortunately) there will also be some commercial psytrance...
