Probably already discussed 20 million times in this forum, but i cannot use the search function in the forum for some reason. I would like to know which compressor people use, as i already asked in the "mother of all bassline threads", i have been told that the Voxengo crunchessor does a better job than its equivalent of Waves. Anyone wants to share his ideas about this.. thnx paul |

Hoi Paul,
I also heard someone say that at the donau.... i havent really checked out much of the voxengo stuff. I personally like the nomad factory blue tubes, the new version thats out has some great plugins that include two compressors. To test the voxengo relative to waves you could send a bassline and kick or whatever through the waves compressor and mix it down, then change it so its sent through the voxengo and mix it down, then listen to both files and compare the sound, can evel look at frequency analysis...

jeez man, just check them out and choose for yourself... everybody prefers a different compressor, i love the vintagewarmer for example (but i use different ones, mjMultiBandCompressor for example... which is freeware even...), most people here swear by the waves plugins... Which is enough reason for me NOT to use them But it's a matter of choice... If u want the fastest way to the typical psytrance sound, use the waves plugins... |

an odd reason...
not using something because it is popular is just as bad as using something because it is popular.
...sorry, not trying to start a fight. |

i understand, but there are lot's of alternatives that are equally good but have a slightly different sound. Because of that, if u use the slightly less popular stuff, ur sound will be slightly different... Which is exactly what we want, isn't it? That's why i dont use the access virus or nord lead either... Though i have to admit that there are people who can achieve a very original results with the virus/nord lead (artifakt is a prime example, electroll is another, though he didn't release anything officially yet ) |
