It evolved from goa trance which started definately by 92 argueably as early as 88. TOuring musicians in goa...drugs... hippies... that drum machine sounds pretty cool... Posford ...mmmm... 97/98 throw out the TB303 ...starts sounding all metallic and stuff... VB-1... Full on, Dark, Neo... shit.. where do we go from here?
