Does this make any sense?
I have heard of people with synaesthesia describing sound very vividly, but to me, the type of scale (major, minor, blues etc) makes the only impact, not the root note. Maybe I'm just amusical, but transposing a song doesn't change the mood to me |

Deep depression, funereal lament, groans of misery and longing for the grave." |

Scales are not the only thing that makes up the mood, it's the way you use the sounds as well.
You can have short staccato sounds or long drawn out slow sounds or anything in between. Length of notes or large and small differences in pitch can affect the mood greatly as well.
So if you write a tune in these scales they aren't necessarily going to sound the way people have listed in these mood relationship documents. (what if if you only use the root and a third for example?).
I think that the note orders that sound good in a particular scale may tend to be things that give off a feeling of a few particular moods, but there is a lot more to it than just that.

Does anyone here know how it works, this scale and mood theory?
It couldn't be that we all humans are pre-programmed to associate this or that scale with this or that emotion, right?

yes, but only leads/solo scales wont give you big feelings, important is the bass what is played along with the lead/solo ..., that shows you (listen) where your lead is standing in the scale... and out of this combination you get a feeling like melancholy.
i also learned that:
major = masculin
minor = feminin
thats why male like minor moods and
female like major moods (if they are hetero )
correct me if im wrong^^^
but it really starts to get intresting when it comes to deminished + forbidden notes.
cheers

I agree...the mood of sound is on the scale type....
major scale get a more happy sound...
minor scale get a sad sound...
I like use a Harmonic minor scales...for me sounds like a mistery..envolved sound...
anyone have a scale type mood chart?
hehehhehe
