I have a toshiba laptop. All my software detects i have a midi input, but i cant find the hardware. I only have 2jacks (phones and mic) No midi.
Is the mic jack also a midi jack?

do you have a game port? in old computer days, using a cable adapter this was also the midi port

depends how old your laptop is

it does have a 'microsoft midi maper' (i think rs 232) if you connect as dtd said a convertor with an midi in you can use it !

altough i think its primary use is to play midi files on your media player but im not sure!

i bet its the game port too, i think the mpu 401 interfaces were all gameport stuff back in the day
