where are all the elders? dont they care?how will the knowledge be passed on? why dont they help? why is it they dont nurture the new? if they dont wake, how are we to grow so rapidly without guidance? do they even watch? do they care about the ones who walk on their footsteps, on their walked paths? why are they so invisible?why dont they help, guide, through wisdon and experience, knowledge? where are the beautyfull witches that charm the being colourfull? where are the old men who stand still in the middle of a sonic blizzard with a blissfull smile? why dont they wake, their time is close, wake wake wake . . . |

I'm here
Some others as well.
But most of the elders, well, the story goes like that...
When the elders were still young they discovered La La Land. Things were really nice there, and pretty simple. And it was simple for things to be nice there. A lot of them lived in La La Land for a while. And it was good. Real good. Hell, who are we kidding- it was the best!
But La La Land is a hard place to live in for a long time. There's a price to pay, and most of the elders didn't want to pay it. And I truly understand them (I didn't want to pay it). But many of them discovered about the price thing quite suddenly, as they didn't really think about it all. So they left. A lot of others just left because, well, they weren't from there and they had people and places and other things they missed outside La La Land.
And then when they got back, they found that the world is not so simple as La La Land, and that you cannot live in the world like in La La Land. That unlike in La La Land it's not simple for things to be nice in the world. It require efforts. Some times a lot of efforts.
Then few things happened:
Some ppl just thought that La La Land was an illusion, there was never La La Land. The illusion was fun while it lasted, but now it's gone. So better get on with things, like everyone else.
Others pretended that they are still in La La Land. But when things turned out not to be simple they took only the things that were convenient for them from La La Land into their lives and forgot about the rest. Then it wasn't so nice anymore, because this is how things work. You cannot eat the cake and leave it whole. Then they started to think that La La Land has gone bad. I think maybe they never realized that they were in La La Land to begin with. They complain a lot about how things were good once and are shitty now. They are bitter. They miss La La Land, but they will never get there again, and there's nothing they can do about it. It's like sand slipping between their fingers.
Others realized that they are not in La La Land anymore. That their time in La La Land has finished. That they do not want to live there really. Some found it out quite quickly, for others it took more time. For some it was a smooth process, for others (probably most) it was bumpy. For a few it was real bad. But these people, they know that La La Land is a good place. And that even if you do not want to live there, it is worth it to bring some things from there into this world we live in. Yes, it requires efforts, so they do what they can. And they try not to forget it and to find it in their lives in the world as often as possible. And they are not bitter, they are happy, as they were blessed to visit La La Land, and they are blessed now to have some of it here around them. But these people, you should be aware, are probably not in the forum and not in parties as much as they used to, because, as I told you they work really hard (those extra efforts, you know).

A lot of times when people get older they do this silly thing called "getting married and having children" that often prevents them from partying. Some don't let it stop them, but it always makes it harder. |

sometimes the stars are so near that you can reach them with the top of your finger. you can hold a star in your hands and put it directly on your heart. and still, most people would not do it . they would just not see the star. or pretend there was no star. they would keep saying that nobody can reach the stars. then, after some time, they would just walk further and further away from the star. and never reach it. they would not believe that there was a star to touch. not even realize they had the chance.
and the stars were so near. if they just spread the hand to touch them. |

oh and one more thing. the elders of the trance scene today are exactly the elders that the youth of today deserves. generally spoken.
nobody is gone. just a law of attraction.

Nice one shahar.
You just forgot to mention that some of us still visit La La Land every now and then. It's often difficult to find La La Land, and if you do it is very difficult to come back psychologically, and even more difficult is to bring something from there...

People change through time and so does their music interest and preferences (which is absolutely normal if you ask me).
I dare to say that 90% of the people that were in this forum when i joined it (more than 11 years ago) are either tottally out of the psy scene or have changed their music preferences a lot and just listen to very very few psy trance stuff from very selected artists and labels that match their taste.
As about the new generation UNFORTUNATELY they dont and cant get the same inspiration we received years ago simply because the scene and the music have changed a lot and not to the positive side of things.
For me the scene has done its circle and is on a free fall.

Yeah having been around in various forms over the last 12 years, I agree mostly what Detox said.
Now-a-days I just find drum & bass, chillout and live rock/metal much more interesting musically than Psy trance.
I listen mostly Psy wise to what I listened to from 1996-2006 but little after those dates.
The modern Psy scene in australia is actually quite good and I got two or three times a year, but in my last few global travels I found the European scene & Latin America to be far to clubby n' the younger crowd seemed trashier, but this again is probably an age thing.
Also the music now-a-days and the vibe just doesn't get to that euphoric almost spiritual state it did for me early on, due to commercialisation IMHO.
I hate you, you hate me, we are all so hap hap happy! |
