Where do you think trance music is headed?

After Ocelots (quite interesting) thread, I would like to know what you all think about into what trance will develop next.

It was once house, developed into all these genres we are having now. The latest seems to be electro, although to me, electro reminds me a lot of what used to be called minimal.

In some ways we do seem to get back to the roots of what once was, with better technology and more possibilities. I wonder if some of the different genres will ever fuse together, I have been trying that approach lately, making some parts of a track for instance more melodic, others more hypnotic with less melody and more rhythm.

where is the music headed? well wherever we want to take it. Thats is the bottom line. The rest are only details IMO.

The same goes with the world we live in. The same goes with yourself. Who do you want to be? What do you want to stand for? Do you just want to be cool and live a happy life while you remain the same sheepish douchebag that society made you or do you want to explore what is beyond and sing in purity the true song of your soul? not cool enough for that? What a wanker then. Like are you just going to go to school, get job and go with it like everyone else in this fucked up world or do you have some ovaries/balls to play a different tune that breaks the spell and creates the world you want to see in your wildest most fantastic dreams?

Are you going to tune into the programmed thoughts radio and regurgitate the same old bs that everyone is blindly feeding from or are you going to summon that voodoo child with an infnite heart and cut that mountain of crap with the palm of your hand? You got to bring it from the heart with power and no fear!!! You got to belive that you are the shit, that you have the power to create a new world. otherwise you are shrunken in fear and are only feeding from what others are dictating. And all this applies to music.

The music is just a reflection of who we are. PERIOD!

You know we can explore a million genres but to make real fucking serious music you have to liberate yourself in higher freedom and fearlessness so you can actually create something alive and original, and that is a challange. So you need balls/ovaries. If you don't have any then go and create some pop music and be done with this psy shit. I mean you can not remain the same superficial dimwit you grew up as and pretend to make psychedelic music, that is just a joke. You have to be a real freak, a real insane alien ready to take off in your inner UFO to reclaim your power, reclaim your soul and your freedom in the cosmos.

Then you can bend that string and hit the cosmic tone of the moment reaching out to the highest truth. Because you are worth it!!!!!!! Because life is worth it. Then you can dance to this shit and feel like its real!

That’s where I want to take the music!

I agree with you, the thing is , we all are of course also always changing, after all life is a flux, it would be nice to hear into what direction the music (and life) is changing for each of us. I mean look at all the artists and what they came up with, it totally changed over the years, sometimes because they wanted to be trendier, sell more cd,s, I don't know what... others really did remain true to their souls, and their music (and it's instruments) changed completely over the years...

I would just love to see a renaissance of the old russian music we heard in 2001-2004 those are so timeless.

But where are we going now? I guess it depends in which part of the world you are, here in sweden i reccon alot of progressive waves sweeping over now, same goes for myself, just kicking of a new project aimed towards morning progressive.
As it goes for Vegetal, its becoming more and more straight on and complex when it comes to rhytms ( thanks meshuggah).

When i was over in Mexico and Guatemala this semester i noticed that very high bpm trance is the shit over there for some reason. guy before me in mexico finished his last track at 200 Bpm, after that it was my turn
