Where do you guys buy your equipment from?

Hi people,
I am planning to buy some midi controllers for my home studio and I was wondering where you guys buy your equipment while buying it online. Do you just visit the official webpage and order from there?
I am very new to production and still in the process of getting my studio up and running.
My search left me with www.musiciansfriend.com which offers the greatest discounts I found. You guys know of anything better?

where do you live?
better go to small retailers..they most often offer the best price even if it might take a few days longer until your gear is available..but to support the smaller ones is imo very important these days..

Research what you want to get.
Then go to slickdeals.net and do a search for it. This site searches a bunch of different whole sale dealers (almost always the lowest price) as well as major retail stores and gives you the results of which one is the cheapest. I've bought a ton of stuff (music related and not) through places from this site and have never had a problem with any of them.
This is the best way to go about it. If you want to look at local retailers, that is fine too, but always check slickdeals first for comparison.

ive been working for a local retailer on studio gear for one year and can say out of that, if you call them directly or visit them you can lower the price way more than anyone would write it in the net..
they do better prices under the table but not officialy to not stress other retailers with dropping prices and so on..

I did that.. Probably need to search more... The ones I checked, priced the products way more than musiciansfriend.

call them..show them this price, either they can beat it or not..if not go for musiciansfriend..they want to make the deal, even for less most often..

You need to take into account that website sales do not include Shipping and Import duty on their products , while Shipping can be calculated i dont think customs can , so the retailers in India are providing you their price along with Shipping ,whatever duty they pay for it + their cut offcourse +_-
