Where are those who made it from dj'ing and not from making records . Or am i correct that it's next to virtually impossible for a Dj to get a gig without having made any tracks . |

Dj's mix other kinds of beats these days. Future beats, new to the ears of the masses, lady friendly ones, beats worth paying the ticket price along with half a gram and beats that don't make you question anything. cheers |

I'm a DJ.
I love DJing.
I have zero desire to produce trance music (although I do write grebo-techno-pop)
Being a DJ is a special craft and entirely fulfilling.
My newest mix is called Hail to the King
It's 3.5hrs long and travels all around the psychedelic stratosphere.
Give it a listen and I hope you get a bit lost in your brain...

According to me Dj's are many different kins of DJ's. I was a night club DJ.It takes a lot of practice to get your ears trained to match beats. Once you get into playing in a club on a much louder system every mistake is magnified 100 times so don't rush into playing in public.there no that type course.. but u can do is study some track tunes also |

Hello Everyone, This is my first post in the Forum! However I started DJing 20 years ago this month! I owned a few record stores at a young age....and have been all around the world. As far as Djing skills vs producers... these days anyone can use a laptop to do either!! However the treasure artistry and passion comes out when you can Master both aspects. Because Trance Is meant to take u on a journey through several emotional States.....that's why a proper Trance Set should be 4 hours.....minimum. That gives you the right time to tell your story! I would usually start with a lower bpm like 130 or 132 and work through all the different sub-genres of Trance with the ending with some 142 or higher Tech-Trance Bangers!!!

I am a producer & label owner but my original craft was and still is DJing.
In answer to your question: the market is saturated, the big names are on repeat for every event & unfortunately unless your signed to a major label nobody will generally book a talented DJ unless they are a resident (or in exchange for ticket sales / sexual favors). |
