play guitar or bouzouki.and all of the above from time to time.also,i watch big bang theory to find some wacky scientific samples that i can use as a quick boost(though the latest rarely works)

rest, do something else, go outside, find a forest, play football, anything to clear my head.
if that doesn't work - i like writing 120 bpm tracks where anything goes and see what craziness i can come up with.
find something i haven't messed with before and try to brake it  samples or vst or whatever...
a good party is also very good inspiration.
i'm in a rut now - neeed a party

Did this yesterday..started doing weird funky stuff at like 110 bpm and boosted to 140. Sounds great.

The time where I DO feel making psytrance,
is usually after a nice party.
It "reminds" me how decent psy/dance music should be. Parties show why psy trance music exists; and for all musicians who are stuck in their production room I recommend: Go party !!! (summer festivals are a nice opportunity)

party... hmm, it is a good solution. festival is even better.
otherwise sex and sport make a good combo too!! (not exactly is this order)... specially if you are close to some beach. |
