When is the best time?

Hello aussies, I am planning to pay a visit to you guys sometime after this september. It will be my first time in Australia and I will be planning to stay something like a month their. I now live in Oxford, England, and to be honest I'm a bit fed up with this live im having now, so my plans will be to move over to Australia, but before I do that I would like to visit first so that I can make a proper decision. I would like to know from you guys when will it be the best time not only for all the brilliant festivals and parties taking place (probably in the summer yeah) but also for geral things that tourists do. Also where and what to see and go is very important as I will be also choosing where to live in Australia. All the information tips etc... are welcome.

Well in Sydney we tend to party all year around, but for the outdoor party season any time from October to April is pretty rocking with parties every other week or so, a good range of intls and plenty of outdoor bush and forest doofs with a broad spectrum of music.
