Im allways getting myself in a mess about what I should be doing, and not actually concentrating on making music. Ive found out that im a lot better at manipulating audio than sequencing midi. I can create complex drum patterns but struggle with leads. I use cubase sx3, and adobe audition. I want to use audition for sequencing/production and cubase only for leads, but I hate swapping between the two all the time! this way I have to duplicate my whole track in both programs so I get bogged down and never progress very fast. I hate using cubase as a audio sequencer but cant use audition for midi, what options do I have?

Also, when Im in cubase and have a audio part and want to cut it/effect it in audition can I get cubase to import the changed file automatically as this would save me alot of time!

i like to work in different platforms (ex. Cubase - Ableton ) because it gives me a fresh aproach on the track, but it shouldnt be a drag, on the opposite it should be to make ur composition easier and more fluid. Back in Cubase VST 5.0 u could use an external audio editor (i used cool edit pro!), but since the SX series , the audio editing in cubase is excellent ,in my opinion . im curious, what can u do in audition u cant do in cubase? maybe u need to find a sequencer which u feel comfortable with both audio and midi?           www.soundcloud.com/elektroakustica/sets/downtempo/

not sure if i understood you correctly, but i always overwrite the previous version, and then cubase automatically loads it anew.

my workflow used to really suck, i had such a crappy machine until recently...it couldn't handle vst's within the main project file...that was a real pain in the ass, thanks god those times are gone now no more 30 different project files for one song           Anakoluth A Pebble in Your Eardrum's Shoe since 2001!

Try Sony Acid Pro 6.0

Midi section is not as easy to use as cubase, but not difficult at all. Just a bit different.

Audio manipulation is perfect, not to mention the elastic audio function and synchronization of the preview of the samples in real time with the project tempo.

Sequencing couldn't be easier and faster, and you can launch any external sample editor you want.

If you try it and you have any questions, just PM me.           A friend told me once that the biggest mistake we make is that we believe we live, when in reality we are sleeping in the waiting room of life.
