My opinion, are you serious? If you don't want your music to be taken then don't call yourself an artist or allow anyone to hear it..The Internet is a free zone for music and thanks to the laptop Dj's for making mp3's so popular and Itunes.. Them dj types have no soul in musical art form...

I'm only joking at the robot minds

What's wrong with SoundCloud?

P.S. Theoretically, I am answering Yes. Practically - no: I haven't finished a track yet.

No, I don't mind.

Reasons:

1.) Free promotion

2.) I don't make money from my music anyway.

Thank you!
I don't think the sound-quality is even mp3 really, so I don't see why people (who usually buy music that they like) wouldn't buy good music that they discovered on youtube.

youtube is the best promotional place .. where is the problem?           ..."Be yourself, let your conscience guide you...

That really seems to be the problem, a kind of resigned feeling in many artists, because the minute your new cd or ep or VA with sound from you is out on lets say Psyshop some cheap ass sucker puts it on rapidshare or who knows where where loads of other folks download it for free.
So in a way, would that not also be promotion then?

Lets not forget that prior to torrent and
Co , trance artists actually made money through selling music.

I would say it's up to the artists and no one else to decide if the music should go on youtube and other similar places.           www.beatagency.dk

Well, it also should be up to the home owner how tall his lawn grass gets and how often he paints his garage, for example. But there are bigger forces in play there, which kinda dictate those things to him. So, our fellow citizen is left with only one choice: to like this deal or not. Likewise, it’s not up to you whether your music gets pirated or not. What’s up to you is how you feel and what you do (or not do) about it.

I use youtube a lot, for example i saved all the Inception soundtrack videos yesterday and since i liked what i heard i decided to buy the original score.

Also through youtube i discovered a lot of artists like Tiger Lillies for example and Madrugada whose work i also bought in original.

As long as someone uses youtube to learn new things and he supports the artists that he discovers and likes by buying their work thats fine about me.

But when people just use youtube to listen to music without buying anything at all in original then this is not proper use in my humble opinion.           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!
