Whats the best MD and headphone combination?

Guys...am travelling, MD was stolen, getting a new one in 3 days, maybe 2 when i get to the USA.
Want the MZR900, do they still sell it or just those new NetMDs? And if so, how much should i expect to pay in the states?
I have the MDRV250 headphones at home and they are nice, but i would like something with a bit more power and a bigger magnet. What can you recommend in the budget-mid range?

hey coombsey i'm not sure whether they
do, but pretty well confident that there would be.....
check for a md unit that has optical in/out
as my soundcard is optical aswell..
grabbed new headphones on the weekend myself there not huge on bass but nice and flat overall for me to monitor with with my stuff through headphones for trippy panning etc......
nice none the less sennheiser eh2270...
well maybe not had a look and could only find optical on the larger units...

AFAIK i think they still sell the MZR900
I had one and It cost me something like $300.
about headphones you normally get with the MD player... but I think these Sony 700 are good ones

well..
i got MZ-g750PC (sony)
its a nice minidisk..
very small, and light,
has all the lp recordeing options, digital pclink, great headphones.., and even a radio !!
i am very happy with it
i LOVE it
i bought it last year at the US for 300$...
recomended..

Sony MZR900 i have two of them and i am not very happy.I dont recommend them to anyone who wants to purchase a new MD.
Search for a new Sony model.

Dont buy Sony MZR900/500/700
They all sux !
Try the old models MZR50/55/90 by Sony
They are great !

I have ultra stealth combination: Sony mz-r900 and sony groove headphones.
And I'm really happy with it. The unit cost me like 200 € and the headphones about 20 €, I have to buy new headphones about once a year, but I don't think it's too bad, cause the sound quality and the bass are great until they break.
I have a great soundcard so I can transfer the mp3s digitally to my MD player. I'm totally satisfied with the unit. It even has about 10 step pitch controll =)

thanks guys...
i got the MZ-N505...its crazy! Has all the options i need, can download off the net onto an MD, has LP, track name capabilities and pretty much everything else. Much better buy than the MZ-N707 which was US$80 more, and all you get is a remote, a car kit and a rechargeable battery.
Got some Jensen DJ headphones, great for travelling as they fold up to the size of the MD, and they sound pretty good too! |
