dunno if this was asked before..... i think so..... but which processor has a better performance: AMD Athlon 2GHz or P4 2GHz?????
by the way..... is Delta 1010LT a good soundcard???

Delta 1010LT is pretty much good - actually it's great!
I personally don't think u will find a big difference between them both at those speeds, but you could get more performance out of the AMD for less money. It's worth it.

AMD Athlon 2GHz is a better choice for a vsti based studio, to my opinion.
anyway, make shure you check the comptability of the sound card to the processor you going to run on.

I bought 4 months ago Amd1.8G and never had a reason to fell sorry for it.
Pentium 4 models up to 2Gigs (excluding) are not really good performance wise. But the 2G model is a really good one.
But i'd like to recommend you to go for AMD. Because it's cheaper, and you get this "family" feeling, like you are buying something different.
Something like Mac users or Linux users.
And BTW it works great with VST!
Never had any bottlenecks with my AMD1.8 + 512Mb DDRam.
So go for it.

search around the net for some actual 'benchmarking' reports.
this is where ppl test the efficiency of each processor, or whatever piece of hardware, using real world, practical applications, like audio editing/sequencing. (or video editing etc.)
this will give u a real idea of which will perform better under the specified circumstances.

AMDs are good processors for the money but they het up pretty fast so make sure u got ur cabinet cooled properly or ull end up frying ur processor
....good fudge comes on slow!!! |
