Where is it that you experience total freedom and oneness with the music?
I have much more fun at home where i don't have to restrict myself going all out. Sometimes at partys i get conscious and am not able to get into the music as much as i would like, i get the feeling everyone is staring at me. I know this is a tad retarded but it happens sometimes, you know
I also get very bored if the music is not upto the mark and slightly frustrating if i cannot play the kind of music i want. Not to say there haven't been partys where i have had loads of fun dancing away like mad, but these days i just dunno.
Home listening experiences more often than not with friends have been awesome times.. the trance state of mind comes easier to me in familiar surroundings.
Probably which is why i have stopped going for partys altogether. Hope im not getting old
Given a choice what would you go for?

well... it depends. i can definitely understand your feelings and it's been a while since i've gone out (for various reasons). but based on previous experiences, i've felt this way in both environments. there are so many factors that can influence whether you have a good time or not, that it's really difficult to predict. one tiny thing can totally make your day. just like it can get stuck in your subconscious and quietly start eating you from the inside until you are completely irritated without really understanding why.
i'm a pretty introverted person, so i really enjoy sitting home and doing my things (of which there are plenty). but still i recognize the need to spice up my life and put myself out there, for better or worse. a nice kick in the ass. a change of scenery. i think the days of being out every single weekend are long gone. but being extremely selective and going to a few quality events a year is just what the doctor ordered.

argh i hate those moments. you have to train yourself to slip in and out of that thing.
about partying home and outside, there is an alternative, a third realm of having fun with trance music. make a playlist or ask a DJ to mix you a set with your favorite tracks. go to a remote area like in the woods where you are 100% sure you are alone. and dance yeah its weird but it beats thinking you are being stared at

To Exotic:
maybe your tastes are becoming more refined, and you simply just want some music..not all music satisfyes you - i am in the same mood..if the music doesn´t fit my tastes i prefer to go for a walk..after so many hears listening to trance music, these days i am more picky on the music i hear..
and yes i belive age is a factor that has importance in the way that for example, i becoming older am enjoyng more and more slower music..i simply just can´t stand crazy music over 150 and over, with to musch abstracteness and to much evil sounds and twistedness..
but in the end i think it all resumes to tastes
just have fun on what makes you happy ... |

| That is exactly the kind of scene i prefer. Some close friends, your own choice of music and no compulsion of acceptable social behaviour when you're fucked up. That used to be possible even at big parties , the sad part is such events do not happen anymore.

Outdoor rave... the feeling you get from the crowd and the atmosphere created by the outdoor surroundings where there aren't any walls preventing the music from flowing freely.
Nothing can beat that. |

a party is a party man..
I love listening to music when at home, just gives me my own privacy, and far lesser things to worry about than when at another place.. .but given the choice i would rather hear the same music at a party (and i dont mean club)!
Nothing is said that has not been said before. |
