personaly i prefer the virus, i like it more, and nord lead 3 isnt so good or my taste, but is about taste , you must check tham both ans see what best for you

Bare in mind that the Nord doesn't have internal effects, as oppose to the Virus.
I like the Virus better, but it really depends on you;
Do you want to achieve the "mainstream" psy trance sounds of today? Get a Nord.
Want some goa sounds? Get a Virus.
Want to program a lot and create new sounds? Well, any High standard analog or virtual analog synth will do (go for the Virus or for the Q on this case).

Sequipa, the virus indigo is a great synth, i bought it after selling the nord lead 2, the nord 3 is amazingly expensive dood but also very good

it all depends on your taste of sounds both synths offer a vast array of sounds but they sound different from eachother too(thank god for that)
if it´s your first synth i would go for the virus this is an all in one machine that sounds absolutely incredible, possibly the best synth for beginners complete with efx and all. you should try and find a used virus b before you start looking at the new c-line since these offer only minor changes in layout and user interface you are better off getting a cheap used b (if you can find anyone who wants to sell it he he)if you have the cash both machines supplement eachother beautifully
but for now i recommend the virus although you should check out both of them. go down to your gearpusher and test drive them both for as long as they let you. then you will be able to make your choice more easily. happy hunting
