Wavelab has had spectral editing for a while, and RX also makes good use of the spectrogram, but by the looks of it, this takes it to a new level.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

Indeed RX has a cool use of the spectrogram, althought I have some problems with the artifacts when removing something using the spectrogram.

If this sounds with almost no artifacts.... humm... sounds yummy!           LOADING...

I found this one too seems ok... haven't tried:

And not so long ago I watched a video somewhere about another app to extract vocals which worked in very similar way.

topic title confused me a little...
This is nothing revolutionary in this days.
I expected that I would see a completely new technology that breaks the laws of physics and somehow able to extract individual sounds
The only new thing is the GUI and way of work if I good understand?

Remember that in the presentations are always used specially prepared samples to make stunning effect. In clash with interesting us tracks might not be so sweet...

btw http://www.uisoftware.com/MetaSynth/index.php - really old software, maybe for different purpose but idea is the same           http://www.beatport.com/release/cross-the-atoms/1042450

to me it doesn't matter if it is perfect for acoustic stuff or not, it is for sure capable of some awsome sonic colors, i love doing all sorts of grainy textures with noise reducers, so for me something like this is appealing even if it sounds lo-fi.

I can't imagine how many sound recordists drool over this thing, it certainly rakes it to the next level...           Upavas - Here And Now (Sangoma Rec.) new EP out Oct.29th, get it here:
