what to buy first a soundcard or a good processor?

hello psy friends i would like to know if the soundcard affects the music i make.
i'm really having dificults with the bassline it looks so mechanic.
my sound card come with my pc and i know it's a #$#¨$%@#@ but i have to chose if i buy a new processor and mother board or a soundcard i just want to know what to buy first.
i have an AMD Duron 1.2
256mb memory
genius 5.1 live(soundblaster clone but worst very worst)
and i use logic platinum and cubase sx2 with lots of plug - ins
and 1000 U$ .

i don t know how cubase "renders" to audio, but at least in logic u ll get a better quality if using vsti's. ( rendering in real-time, bad latency = bad sound ) n if u get a soundcard with good asio-drivers, your cpu can take more too = more voices = better quality.
i ve got an amd2700 with 1gb ram n works good.

I would say the priority list is:
1. Powerful computer.
2. Good speakers & amp.
3. Better sound card.
