if I remember right from the last time I got this (on pc, dont know how its on mac) I think it affects also the cpu...dont know why tough...
maybe its like knocz said and its really just that the comp is as slow as its slowest component and the cpu gets up cause its waiting for new data and doesnt get it on time
but cant tell you something serious on this, just my thoughts
btw you re using all this with your built in card alcomic? same as vermee got?
if so its also about the rosetta shit...but that doesnt mean that you can go nuts if you got just a ub version of live https://soundcloud.com/hazak

Hey mad..no i`m not using the build in card..at the moment i use my ti as soundcard..
but i`m waiting for my other one..till it comes back from repair..but what he is using..like 5 midi channels and 4 audio channels should not be a problem on a macbook..apples hardware is all produced that it fits together..cant imagine that this is the problem..but wanna know if vermee was setting up multiprocessor support in live already..
i`m pretty sure that you cant run a ppc version of live on an intel mac..like it has to be an ub version otherwise he the mac wouldn`t recognize the program..like with every old synth wich is not ub..
am waiting for some responce of vermee..
did you even turn of the other in and outputs that are not in use?

my latency value is undefinied..as i said
i start doing the project with the default latency that already came... and when i start to feel the glitches after 5 vsts opened and 4 audio channel opened i started to increase it till it gets better til a moment that no longer could it be increased.
a simple small audio file alone plays with no problem at all... the problem is when there are 'lots' of channels opened.
music plays normal.... no problem playin tunes in other appz. i use itunes ( by the way is there an app tu substitute WINAMP for osx?).
if i render the tune it plays okay.. but i did it before it gets that many channels and start glitches.
its version 5; whats the problem with that ?

http://www.apple.com/rosetta/
this is rosetta if you dont know it
this together with bad cpu/latency settings could also fuck everything up, you re right!
but its defenately the best way to go for an external audio interface, no matter if its on that settings or not...as soon as the projects grow you'll get the same stuff again
oh and just saw your post vermee, get live 6 with universal binary...it will also help a bit with your problem

Hey cool..didnt know about that one..
got a lot of synth wich are not ub..so that could be the solution right?
fuckin awsome...
and year..vermee definatly need to by an external interface for sure..for a lot of reasons..and mainly latency issues and soundquality..i hope i will get the echo audiofire 4 ..but that depends on the shop owner..and if he will buy mmy old one..but am looking forward to this..
i dont know if you got me right vermee..did you check your stereo and mono outputs in live preferences?just use one stereo output or maybe two..for special effects.. |

its not that cool tough...would be kind of, but like knocz already said, it eats a lot of cpu

Good Morning u all.
so.. .thanks for the reply from u guys. Problem *almost* solved....
u guys were right.. my version from ABLETON wasnt for those intel mac. I couldnt see lots of options like the cpu tabs etc etc, But i just got the hands on the version 6.0.7 from intel, already installed it and it seems okay. but i ve not tested yet. at least i can see those other preferences . I think now it s going to flow.
The vsts were right... all of them UB.
but if i was using that wrong version of live why this even could be opened? i dont installed any asshole ( rosette) kk in my machine to work with non UB appz.
and damn...the conseque of it is cpu overloaded with lots of free memory ? thats not good kkk
i really d like to understand why this was happenin and im anxious to see if everythjin is really working.

OS X tips I can think of...
Run Disk Utility -> repair disk permissions
Make sure your external microphone is turned off and not picking up background noise. Made a HUGE difference on my MacBook.
Open terminal. run $auval -r 1. and make sure everything passes validation... ( that is more of a Logic thingy though... but, might slow things down if you've got some icky plug-ins. |
