the speed of your ram depended by the lowest speed of your ram cards.
check the old ram and the new ram you added and then u will know the speed

if yer board supports 100Mhz RAM - then you won't have 133Mhz RAM...
but anyway, load a big fruityloops track which is bigger than 64Mb of samples which you had once... and you will see how fast it loads the samples without using yer HD :)

i cant see why u see no difference. u supposed to have a much bigger capability of cpu.
anyway, if it is still slow and short in cpu just work with two operation systems, one for the net and games and the other one make it the lightest installation so it should be only for music..

good luck dude...

RAM improves a very specific part of the speed. A fast CPU is for calculations and stuff (for example, VSTi's). RAM holds the memory, but rarely all of the memory used fits on the RAM. The OS puts the extra memory on the HD (look for a file called win386.swp). Having extra RAM lowers the amout of HD needed for memory, resulting in less HD usage (and then less read/write problems) and faster memory access (RAM is way faster than HD).

Conclusion: 1GB of RAM will be enough ;-)

RAM adds to your multitracking tasks - like when you play multiple WAVS - you want them to be READY for playing.

but when it comes to Sound Generation or applying plug-Ins, it won't matter how much RAM you'll have - couse the CPU has to work on some relatively small data amount...so this time I'll go on CPU :)

and btw, 1Gb of RAM cost pretty much alot.
