The best saw doesn't mean anything. There is plenty of different saw sounds. Low-pitch saw, High-pitch saw, detuned hypersaw, saw with short enveloppe and so on. Some synths can be better at a specific one but it doesn't mean they have the best "saw" sound.           http://www.myspace.com/psyrit

Ace saw to plastic soundind for my taste , i like it but not for everyhting but there is no best saw, it s what is the best saw for that sound... it all depends what sound you wanna make. even the virus that have a crapy saw for many can be good for some leads and pads,so best saw don t mean much, even a crappy one can be good for some sounds

You are absolutely right .I still find that ACe is really analoge and uncomparable to any other soft synth so far.
I's also the only one that is going that much on cpu,but sounds really awesome to me.When in cubase at home I cannot work it out concretely because this beast needs that much in cpu.
Ableton engine does wonders on this cpu issue though.
.. Today I spend the half day with Virus C and other nice ones.I must say Virus saw for example is really nice,Ace is a monster therfore in comparison and IMO only.I only meand the sound.Virus itself is a fantastic magic toy for sure.
And again I know what you mean POM,and I absolutely agree to the essence of your comment.

this saw is better imo.I have this idea for my music for many years, probably more than ten - to record someday somewhere this kind of saw and use it as a sample,no joke.
Now I thaught of my psycore rap stuff but I'd use it in any kind of music ,must be great but there exist no material in any sample libraries or sth.
Also it must be somethin else to find the spirit take him to record his art and being allowed to use it.
Some ideas one should not spread out but whatever.

hey bro...

Dont really know winch one but my favourite is Zebra2.

Anyway, I found that any saw you use allways sounds better if you apply a small amount of distortion to the hi end. (Quadrafuzz is my favourite)

And if you talking bass:
Also apply saturation or good analog (or analog emulation) limiting to the low frequencies.

Actualy ACE has no Supersaw like on the Virus f.e.

http://www.acesynth.com/index.php?item=specs

But there will be a single plugin by u-he just for supersaw.
One more modul for the big Berlin Modular synth system.

well i tried zebra2 it has a more bright saw
the brighter is sylenth1 really best looking high end
the brightest a surprise, is sawer and poizone from imageline
seems they have too much saturation on high end realy big rich saws but the synths are crap(everything built in and limited - i hate it).

there is no best of course it is just a matter of taste it says saw but it could be not the saw you think it is           http://soundcloud.com/magimix-1/chilling-forest-whispers

i dont understand this whole thing where people put a "morph" button on a synth that allows you to morph between oscillators patches. sure it simplifies the process but you could just as easily crossfade in the mixer.           http://www.youtube.com/user/trawhi (tutorials)

Thinking about being able to morph bewtween oscillator waveforms, on an oscillator that acts as the modulator (or carrier) in a FM patch, or a two oscillator ring modulation patch...and that's just scratching the surface of things...
