btw necatarios is right ......

the expensive shit is sooo bocz it delivers

sueprglue ....

ur points are kool 4 ppl who are just learning to make trance and should not go in 4 big investments in monitors ....

but u cant hide from the fact tht if a goood set of ears was given a sony speakers and a tannoy speakers [ expensive and better ones i mean , brand name dosent matter ] , the mixes will be much better using the tannoy ones ...

so u are also right ,

but u should know to how to talk to a person considering @ what level he is ....

bye 4 now and peace out ...

Why do you think so???
Trust me that for a professional , it not make a big difference. You just must know how your monitors/speakers sound.

SuperGlue, let's say i was helping a friend decide on which car to buy and we dropped to a dealer to test-drive some models.

We first got in a Fiat Seicento. We drove around the city - awesome! It was really nice, compact and all - low-priced too. Top speed was 60 km/h, mostly due to the fact we were in the city - traffic, speed limits etc. We wouldn't dare take it on the highway tho - it would give up on us and we didnt want to !

Anyway, we then got in an Alfa 156. Wooohoo! Smooth driving, sleak interior, a no-brainer, really! We actually started driving in town, but then we though - WTF! F*** city speed limits! This thing can go fast! We should go for a nice ride on the highway! - and so we did. We drove up to 180km/h pretty easily and the thing could do more.

Guess what me matey bought

Exchange in this example cars for speakers'/monitors' abilities and top speed limits with your expectations and how far you want to go with your music - im sure you'll get the point.

Appologies if i patronised a little huge bit.

Good day.

tente my frnd y dont u get the fact tht music or sound is all abt "HEARING". ??

i understand tht a professional will do a fairly good job on those cheapy sony monitors also as u said , but wat is he going to do if he "cant hear those frequencies ???"

my speakers lets say dont produce anything above 10k ... naturally no matter how i know my sperkers very well , i wont be able to eq those closed , open hi hats and cybals and crashes ,,,

but if i was doing them on tannoys i would 'nt have to "strain" my ear and would also do a much better eq/ mix ....

so moral of the story is tht " ITS ALL ABT HEARING "

if u arent hearing , u arent getting the deal ....

i hope i could explain ...

bye 4 now and take care ...           http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTPJuMSwzUQ

and tente my frnd , will u pls kindly define me what do u mean by a "PROFESSIONAL" .... ???

arent the "PROFESSIONALs" u talking abt humans ??

they also have a similiar freq response of the ear as we do have ....

its nuthin abt professionalim , its all abt experience .. which u gain only by working with good quality equipment ...

u also gain experience by working with shitty equpiment , but it takes much longer and still u ned to have exposure to pro stuff ..

lissen ill tell u wat my facutly always said while i was doing the sound engg course ...

he said tht lets say if i wanted to eq a drum kit which was recorded using 8-10 mics ...

a person who had listenined and spent time with an acoustic drum kit would do the job much better than a person who had never or had rarely heard a drum kit b4 ....

similarily if u arent going to use and lissen high quality monitrs u will never know how 10k sounds or how 12 k sounds and so on ...

thus once again its all abt HEARING ...

u need to lissen to good to do good ...

super glue how can u explain the fact that a man working with same monitors few years(talking about specific man) and he knows his monitors
they are cheap monitor i must say and now he boughet new monitors realy good ones and we decided to test the old ones he made a bassline just like eskimo domestic - a lesson in session( he is a high level artist he has a good sound production not infected but solid production!) and on the old monitors the domestic track and his track sounded exactly the !!! and then we switched to the better monitors and there was a noticeable diffrence between them the domestic track hasnt changed much but is all sub bass was diffrent
