I use QLN 612 speakers powered by a NAD C370 amplifier - Very good sound for trance & chillout + MOVIES, has a very good mid range and goes very low. Only problem is that I need a bigger living room and no neighbours.

Well - Speakers should be bought according to many factors, one of the MOST important is the size of your room.
If you put speakers which are "big" in the sense that they have large bass driver units (12" - 15" or 18") in too small a room it will sound CRAP.

Actually, most people are best served with a speaker system which just uses 6½" bass units - or 12" if they have a large livingroom.

Basicly these are the rules for the best bass unit size versus room size.

10-15 m2: 5" bas/midrange (combined)
15-20 m2: 6½" bas/midrange (combined)
20-25 m2: 7 - 8", or 2 * 6½ "
25-30 m2: 2 * 6½" or a 7- 8"
30-35 m2: 2 * 7" or a 10"
35-40 m2: 10" or 2 * 8"

Following these rules AND proper speaker placement will give you a better sounding bass, not that much distorted "boom" etc.

The mids and his are of course at least as important - I would go for speakers like B&W, Monitor Audio etc... (they are sold all over the planet I think). Combined with amplifiers from Rodec or Nad (which should also be easily available) + decent cables.

There are better offers out there Im sure - But, Im not sure they are available everywhere.

Remember, its all a chain of sound - Speaker placement, room size, cables, amplifier & of course the speakers themselves.

Best Wishes
