Dunno what is going to happen in the middle, but I always make DJ friendly intros and outros, simply because I wanna be able to play my tunes out without ruining the flow of a DJ, or live set.

Well, ur out off style, looks like odd bars, opera and death metal are in trend these days, and ur probably bad dj cause u make it easy on yourself

but nobody ever implied that that hypothetical 11-bar section is in the intro or outro. it could very well be in the middle, so then it's a moot point.
but if it is in the outro, just take that other track you have written with a 5-bar intro and... bam! instant mixability.
p.s. and death metal is ALWAYS in! |

hehe, I told ya I stuck on that 11 bar in the outro cause I had lot worse problem than just few skipped bars..
but when were still on that bar, do u know any tracks except that death metal, which are made in such a way, especially in the outro, so I dont have to make my "out of standard" tracks..
just dont recommend some dark psy trance slightly different from metal

When I say DJ friendly intro and outro I mean at least 16 bars of some breakbeat and then another 16 bars of kick and some early form of the bassline, with very few other things in the mix. Not some long drone without a beat underneath dragging on for ever.
I don't like long beatless parts in sets, maybe a few 16/32 bar breakdowns for the people to catch a breather, but thats about it.

officially, it's not IN yet, as it's still pending approval by the Dark Trance Council. but the word on the street is the resolution most likely be passed any time now, so there are already plenty of early adopters around. |
