Hi,
I plan to build a hardware home-studio around a Mac and I would like to know if it is worth to pay the difference in between Cubase and Logic as I believe in Logic you pay more for the soft synths.
This is about which is better for a hardware set up integration.
Thanks in advance.

Well, as I wrote, the difference in the price. I consider Logic to be as good as Cubase, but I wonder if having all the hardware, I need all the soft synths that Logic has... 400 euros is not a detail!
So, it is really necessary to pay them and why? |

aren't you running out of the main subject?
i really think You should make a choice,
get 2 little pappers, in one write Logic on the other one writte Cubase, put them in a bag, and choose.
anywho says whatever... i say, there are no rules or right tools, there are trance tracks... and trance tracks. and the best released artists aren't using the same tools, or they are using the same synths but different monitors and vice versa
get something done? |

Concerning the last post, I am sorry, my english seems not to be very clear...
Let me try again in another way then.
First question:
"I plan to build a hardware home-studio around a Mac and I would like to know if it is worth to pay the difference in between Cubase and Logic as I believe in Logic you pay more for the soft synths."
-> meant: I don't know if the price difference is only for the soft synths or if there is another reason; in both cases I'd like to know. Of course, if the difference is only based on the soft synths, I'd rather save my money and buy Cubase as a personal choice.
Second question:
"This is about which is better for a hardware set up integration"
-> meant: which of Logic and Cubase has the best and easiest hardware integration (I know Logic has an Environment but quite difficult to manipulate and Cubase?)
Thanks and sorry again for my english. |

If you have mac go logic. Logic is owned by apple now so what do you think they will do with this product
Also the tight integration between OSX and logic (cause both are developed by apple now) are a advantage.
If you buy logic you can download sounddiver beta for free from the old emagic page and use to organise the sounds for your synths. I still hope they will integrate sd into logic ... well see.
The logic environment is not so difficult to use. And even for big midi setups (like mine) you dont have to twiddle around so much there. |

well it's depend's on whatyou are planing to do in this studio.
if you want to record a band with live musical instrument's so the best for you will be the Digidesign ProTools.
if you into the electronic music product the best for you will be the Logic, well, you pay more for the VST's but i guess that you will have some synth's (hardware) so if you will learn those Synth's you dont need any VSTi...

S.D6 Vs. Iron Madness- Blues Mystery - Doof Rec. & Yellow Sunshine Explosions rec.

S.D6: I want to produce psytrance.
I don't understand the point to pay the VST's of Logic if I am not going to use them...
Please, what is the name of the theme you can find actually in DejaVu records openning web page?
Uccpd: I think that Cubase is the same quality than Logic so I don't intend to begin a topic on that.
Tomcat: I wonder if the integration in between OSX and Logic is an advantage... Cubase must have the same info to make their soft work properly on Mac.
I have tried Logic's Environment and it seems to me a bit unfriendly and difficult to use; have you compared with Cubase?
Plugins are worth in both seqs I guess. |
