lol i use an audigy 2 zs platinum. no one here is going to persude me to upgrade to something different, it does all that i want it to do, i like it, and plus there is no difference in quality among almost any interface. downstairs i happen to master on a computer with an rme card, again no sound quality difference at all. i will probably get bashed for this tho...

i suppose that i should have mentioned that the actual audigy 2 card sucks hard cock in many many ways. the output is fine for a decent clean signal path [not good enough for like for example an oram sonics path lol] but still good enough for the same clean sound. inputs are completely unusable, thats why i use a pro quality tascam digital mixer routed through the optical s/pif input. i know my card and i know it well, the chip is reminisant of an emu 1616m card, to tell you the truth...its practically the same chip...and plus im mostly in the digital domain and rarely make my own samples fed through the tascam digtal 24bit mixer.

i actualy dont know this card anyway..i googled it and comes up kinda cheap 89€ one..is that true?

tascam stuff is even not good enough to use it on Klein & Hummel Speakers, imo..

didn`t make any more research..but consider your D/A conversion..might be far away of dedicated interface stuff at all right?

regarding benchmark D/A or Apogee stuff just for D/A..

even if you use K&h o 300 for mastering , but feed them with a low budged card...you know what i try to say right?

whatever..i own those A7 as well and think they rock..

just get a decent interface or card to get the most out of them imo..

no offence..just try to help if i can..

I agree with you Zork, if i wanted near 100% maximum D/A conversion quality then that card is definately not the way to go. i can't afford another soundcard right now tho so the good RME card is in the computer i use for mastering. please send me some money then i can do that lol. maybe one of you can sell me something used lol any offers?

...The Audigy 2 zs platinum is a Creative product built for gamers and music beginners and not deemed ''professional'' although its always worked fine for me when i bought that card in 2005 it was 300 bucks....

no matter how you explain it djsabreblade, you bought yourseldf a gaming/post production soundcard. :)

And it's very easy to say you will not hear the difference between any other card...who can proof that it's not tru, you need a really good studio to proof that kind of stuf.

When I did my study, we tested different kind of soundcards, monitors and samplerates...

And in a good studio you will hear a difference between a track made in 44.1 and one converted from 48 to 44.1...becouse all the bits and bytes needs to be recalculated.

so if people here want to know what samplerate to use ...believe me, it's 44.1 and not 48 for audio

hmm i should try that, i should export all the wavs from fl studio in 32bit 44.1k cuz that card still supports it [but the performance is optimized for 48k] and mix them in wavelab, and see if i can tell a difference, if not i 'll continue to mix 48k.

djsabreblade - S/PDIF is the way

are you using the tascams output to feed the speakers, meaning you take the audiosignal out from the SB card via S/PDIF to the tascam and use its outputs for the speakers....

or are you taking the sound out from the SB directly to the Adams?

Right now i have the Adam's connect right to back of the card, i figured that would give maxium clean signal rather than routing it to the tascam...but i could try from the tascam via digital sometime.
