These are Faxi/Sattle Battles. I have rinsed them so hard you can see through the fabric!

"Many of the ambient sounds on Distorted Reality have no source at all, but were generated by letting six or seven effects processors feed back on one another for hours. How? Subtly change the send levels to each feedback effect (which in turn feeds another effect, and so on...) and then walk away — recording to hours of DAT tape. Come back with fresh ears in a few months and edit the best bits. Those beds can then be used as fresh source material for further processing and layering in the sampler or computer.

WOW interesting

First thing: about what kind of sample pack we talking here? You look for drums, loops, atmos, sfx or everything in 1 pack?

For drums i like Vengeance Club 4, Goldbaby Tape 909, Thomas Penton - Essential Drums and various from rhythm-lab.com (free)           http://www.beatport.com/release/cross-the-atoms/1042450

The only samples I use in tracks are hi hats and snares from NI Maschine, some percussion sounds I use from Machine as well and give them the grain delay treatment. Everything else is made with my synths to suit a specific part of a track.

All my synth sounds including the kick I make my self.
I find that my last tunes sound better this way, I enjoy the process of making a track a lot more + its more rewarding in the end.

Nothing against using samples, I just like the sound designing process so much that I don't use other people's samples.

Peace out.

don't use synthesizers.
don't use keyboard.
don't use compressors.
don't don't don't don't don't don't....
don't listen to people who say like that if you want to have creative freedom

Liam Howlett was an idiot because he used samples. See how it limited his creativity! ;D           http://www.beatport.com/release/cross-the-atoms/1042450
