I have'nt seen discussion about progressive psy and it's structures.

People could list things that are typical or essential for a progressive track.

For example the basslines dont "roll" so much that they do on full-on and they are more monotonic. The melodies are more simple, but they are arranged so, that they fullfill the rhytmic/progressive feeling.

fart noises are highly important and necessary...
As in the case of the classic "Fartsient - Pushing Boundaries" track of a while back...

That IMO is the true progressive sound

Squeeky farts are the best!

I think that
the essential is the build up...
timing is crucial..

constantly addning new elements in a smart way is for me what progressive trance is about...

riding too long on something can destroy the whole track...
you decide your self how complex it should be...

the hook is also very important...
it got to be one hell of a hook cause its often this hook that determine´s the feeling of the track...

but experimenting and being innovative is probably the most important thing...

go with the flow...

FAT SOUND if u realy wanna sound progy..

not more then 2 leads at the same time.. possible not more then 1.

minimal sounds with extra thought (not like other genres - extra sound with minimal thought )

percussion is very very important in this genre.. make it fat and "tribal rave" feel

*final result usualy boring to me.. but some sound the best.. i like specialy the freq album as prog trance.. and cosmophilia vol.3 kinda electro feel more then trance
