the question is if it's stable with cubase and if it will give me an advantage

I think the 64 is yet not stable anywhere, its still much at is developing/bug solving stage...you might find problems with all your devices drivers etc...I wouldn´t touch for now...most software/drivers are still in 32bit only...
I´m working with XP SP2 and haven´t had any problems... |

Agree with FluoSamsara (Oxygen) about the 64 win.
if you ask me, i would go for WinXP Pro SP1, but only if you need it for music if you have internet on it so SP2 will be best for you.
I have 3 mechins runing
1. AMD DualCore 4400 for music with WinXP Pro SP1 runing.
2. Intel 2.8 for internet & Office with WinXP Pro SP2 runing.
3. Laptop Cantrino 1.5 for Live & internet with WinXP Pro SP2 runing.
from my expriance with XP the SP1 is better then SP2 for music.

Also, like 14-year-old e-tard said, I used to have 98 and yeah my computer did fly with it, but then I was having some drivers/compability problems with a few things and changed for XP. But apart from that problem 98 did had everything I needed and it was way way faster than XP! Its incredible how fast a recent computers boot the system with 98... |

I am running XP SP1 for several months now since the PC purchase with no single crash/blue screen.

well,
The best Windows for music and media computer is the Windows XP with no SP!!!!!!
the SP is for internet security and if your computer aint connected to the internet so you dont need those security pack's because it make's your computer running slower...
