Hey Colin could you elaborate a little on how to EQ 10 percussion channels so they don't fight each other?

Thx

EQing them should be pretty simple. If you know about the trick to find the resonating freq of each sound (max positive db, max q, sweep til you hear reso) you can use that to cut those frequencies away. Or if there is a specific freq range you like from one sound, just cut everything but that.....Just some basic ideas

eq (freq) , volume auto, and panning too

duplicate songs, set them in different freq and volume

thx so far for all the replies !!!
now i'm much better with this stuff ...
and now i'm trying to vary my background percussion for more than 4/8 bars ... let's say 16 - 32!

how do you guys do that???

currently i'm cutting samples + arrange them + eq'ing. but for more than 8 bars i don't think that this is "the right and COMFORTABLE" way!!!???

so take a listen to the track Apocalipstick or Get Phoenix'd from Ben Rama e.g.. VERY VERY NICE tunes imho ...
-> http://www.myspace.com/benrama

and this guy is playing around with drums/background percussion "so easy" imho!
how do you think did he make that?
drum-sequencer? only cutting/pasting samples???

so whats the most comfortable way for you with this stuff?

one way to remove conflict is to
monofy the left and right channels, into separate files.
then load them back and pan them to different positions.

but do it REAL mono
copy paste each channel in Soundforge, manually! no mono plug-ins.
