welll if u r a goood dj ... Mixing(beat matching) is the first & most important thing imo
2) the flow of ur set ( track selection )
& story happen itself

the most important aspect in a djset is in my opinion the connection with the people. when i dj, i try to lead the audience through a musical journey. so i play i track i like, but connect them so that the audience likes it too. never feed them saltless meals, keep it spicy and fresh ! |

the energy flow... If u mix a fast song on a slow song (fast and slow energy, not bpm) and then a slow song on that fast song, even if ur technique is perfect, it'll fuck up ur set... |

well I dj myself at home, spinning all genres of goa a bit more as a hobby...
but what is for you the most important in a dj set,
for example you have 100 %
1. telling a story
2. perfect beatmatching
3. playing unknow goa for the party people
4. advancement
5. killargh tracks/play what is popular
6. connecting with the people (if you should play it a party (hypothetical or not)
if you know antoher good variable just say,
I'll add...
for me it's like
40 procent telling a story
20 procent advacment
20 procent beatmatching
10 procent connecting with the people
10 procent unknow goa
0 procent killarg tracks / what people like

For me, everything has to be perfect when i play, or else i feel shit about myself..
But if its for others, for a Dj i am listening to / Watching my top 5 must be;
1. Track Selection
2. Connection with the people
3. Energetic DJ (It's not very nice to see a Dj play that looks like he/she is being forced to be up there, and they look dead serious)
4. A good flow in the mix (not skipping from full on into dark psy into proggy and back to dark
5. Skills (Nice beat matching is good. Tho i would prefer a Dj with a wicked track selection and not so good beat mixing, that a perfect mixes and shitty tune) But if both is possible then i choose that
