there is no best program you should use every program wich may help you Soundforge is very well in common things but there are some things that is better to do on Acid pro or Wavelab.
another thing:
to LEO even if the plugins are the same every program uses them the own way and Eugene is right |

Vitaly, you're really not right :)
the communication between the plugin and the program is not an issue for changes, it is called "protocol" (whether it;s ASIO/VST/DirectMedia whatever) if the host application agrees with the protocol, it does not have any right or reason to play with the effect. yes, some programs don't fit in the level/panning of the audio stream (volume), but this is because of fuck_ups during the coding. yes, some programs are buggier with some plugins, but still most 90% of plugins do exactly the same work. eventually - it's the same executable running on the audio. you can simply compare the files after running the same effect with the same preset in wavelab or SF. (of course you'll have to turn off the rest of plugs) and see yourself.
peace

agree with you at all Bilbo
but anyway i didnt say that all the plugins doesnt work the same - i meant that there are some plugins that is better to use in cubase or other sequencer/sampler that in soundforge.

Why why alwayz you think about the BEST, you need to find the advantages of each util. i dont know about the coding and this kinda shit but for the way the user work with the util i think each one of the editors you can do sertain things better or easier. I talk here about soundforge, wavelab and cooledit. btw, if you already work with cooledit get 1.2a (dx plugins support) and more stuff than the 2000, i dont have an idea why most of ppl think that 2000 is the best. really liked and agree with vitaly.
