1. A home studio is NEVER complete.
2. I don't think you NEED anything at this point. Have you even started to create tracks?
  You believe in the users?
Yeah, sure. If I don't have a user, then who wrote me? |

hehe Kane.
Basics:
- computer (steinberg daw support)
- monitors (mother of all monitors)
- interface (mother of all soundcards)
1. Choose your computer's specs as listed here http://www.steinberg.net/en/support/steinberg_support_daw.html
2.
-Take a look on The mother of all monitors thread
-use google for reviews and compare different models.
-be patient
-my first monitors are behringer B2031A for 400euros and they work pretty well at the beginning.
3.
-What are needed connections? inputs?
-firewire & usb
-Asio 2 support, must
-Take a look on The mother of all soundcards thread
-use google for reviews and compare different models.
-be patient

cannot really say anything about present products, but choice should be easy when you can use google. search products which suit your budget from thomann, then go to google and [productname] vs./review/problems etc.
there is no need for shakedown in the beginning if you just looking for a starter set - less than 500e,just make an image about all document you can find from net which product would work with trance and beginners
be critical when browsing forums.
I prefer that you don't use more than 500-600e in the beginning, of course depending your how much you earn. hehe
monitors 400e
interface 200e
benefits of cheap set:
-you don't waste any money, cos 600e is nothing. 600e is not so much to figure out what are you abilitys to make music.
-easy to sell forward if didn't feel it right
-even these gonna be rookie set, you'll like wow about your first monitors
-more likely 200e interface with 2 input would be usefull in the future even you upgrade your monitor
--
Take these just as a hint as you should be more active by yourself, nobodys gonna get you from bed to tell these. work work work and work

the worst thing about headphones is that they harm your ears much more the the monitors even in reasonable levels, you must not use headphones all the time

That's true and it's hard to control volume level to be resonable. Ears wax tired pretty fast when looking for correct FQ of sound.
+plus I didn't feel them giving so concrete sound as monitor speakesr do. |
