I have an NORD LEAD 3 , with I´m producing an PsyTrance album (check: www.eletronz.com)
With Nord Lead 3 you have about the same sound as Virus, but you can play just 4 sounds at the same time, so if you are planing to play live, consider buying an hardware sampler or an vst sampler (to play the other tracks of your song)... You should buy an external (but cheaper) effect box too... for delays and reverb mainly...
With virus you can play all your tracks live, and change them live too, because you 16 parts wich will play 16 sounds at the same time, and it has built in effects, and I´ve found the Virus C cheaper then NL3...
The BIGGEST thing on Nord Lead 3 is the panel... With lighted knobs anb buttons and NO LCDs menus to get your sound you will find very easy to setup your sounds and change them on the fly, and this will be a very nice feature if you want to REALLY play live (not just pressing play and dancing with the computer)...
The best synth will be one with the nord lead 3 control panel, and the 16 parts, effects and flexiblity of the virus...
